Canada-headquartered insurance group Sun Life Financial has formed a partnership with US-based accelerator Plug and Play Tech Center to help support insurance-themed startups.
Sun Life will mentor startups developing insurance, health, internet of things, media and mobile, and financial and security technology, but will focus on the insurance vertical. It will also provide and business development support.
Plug and Play’s operates 12 industry-oriented initiatives per year. In each case, the three-month scheme culminates with the participants presenting their ideas to investors and executives.
