Deal Roundup: Super.com soars to $85m series C round

Fund

French cosmetics producer L’Oréal’s Bold unit supplied an undisclosed sum for DSG Consumer Partners IV, a fund run by India and Southeast Asia-focused investment firm DSG Consumer Partners. The fund is reportedly sized at about $125m.

M&A

Motor insurer Direct Line Group acquired By Miles, a UK-based flexible car insurance provider backed by carmaker Jaguar Land Rover and financial services firm CommerzBank, for an undisclosed sum. The company had raised more than $26m in total, as of an $18.3m series B round led by corporate venture capital unit CommerzVentures in 2020.

Dog food provider Butternut Box paid an undisclosed amount to buy Poland-based peer PsiBufet having taken part in the company’s PLN5m ($1.3m) seed round in early 2021.

Public markets

XJet, an Israeli 3D printing technology provider that counts architectural software developer Autodesk, printing technology producer Landa Digital Printing and high-tech equipment manufacturer Spirox among its investors, filed for an $8m initial public offering on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange.

Funding

US-based savings app provider Super.com raised $85m in series C funding from investors including Telstra Ventures, the venture firm spun off by telecommunications firm Telstra. The round was led by Inovia Capital and also featured Hyphen Capital, EDC, Plaza Ventures, Acrew, Lion Capital, Full In Partners and private investors Harley Finkelstein, Deb Liu, Allen Shim, Josh Proctor, Chris Best, Neha Narkhede, Mike Lee and Stephen Curry.
