Swiss Re helps Digi.me compile series A funding

Reinsurance firm Swiss Re has led a £4.2m ($6.1m) series A round for UK-based personal data platform developer Digi.me, taking its overall funding to £7.1m since 2009.

Digi.me is the creator of an online platform that can be used to upload health and financial information to be accessed by businesses in order to help personalise their services, or simply in return for a reward.

Daniel Ryan, head of digital analytics catalysts for Swiss Re, said: “People want to be in control of their data, and many have strong views over what they are willing to share and what they want to keep private.

“We are excited about Digi.me because it will enable people to go one step further, and provide full transparency over how they can use their data to access services and benefits.”

Past investors in Digi.me, which was previously known as SocialSafe, include angel investors Julian Ranger, Marco Sodi and Gordon Bell.
