Swisscom Ventures, telecommunications company Swisscom’s corporate venturing arm, invested an undisclosed amount in US-based IT metrics provider Boundary on Thursday.
The funding was provided at the same time as Boundary announced that Swisscom has chosen it to supply the monitoring and operations management for its cloud infrastructure.
Founded in 2010, Boundary provides real-time application, custom and server monitoring metrics to cloud computing companies. It had raised $41m in funding from Scale Venture Partners, Adams Street Partners, Triangle Peak Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners before Swisscom’s investment.
Stefan Kuentz, investment director for Swisscom Ventures, said: “We were impressed not only with the Boundary solution but also with the management team and their innovative views of the future of web-scale IT.
“We are investing in their vision and are excited to support them on this journey.”
