StrongAuth, a US-based developer of technology for the management of security and encryption keys, has received $10m in funding from software and IT services provider Systena, WralTechWire has reported.
Founded in 2001, StrongAuth offers cybersecurity tools covering data encryption, tokenisation and symmetric key management.
The company’s flagship software, KeyAppliance, can encrypt cloud-hosted files and includes the ability to digitally sign for documents. It has signed up to the Fido Alliance, an industry consortium that intends to increase interoperability between security protocols.
StrongAuth will put the cash towards an expansion of its Durham, North Carolina office to complement its Silicon Valley headquarters. The proceeds will also support the launch of StrongKey Tellaro, a pre-built networking hub that comes with hard-wired cryptographic features.
Jake Kiser, chief executive of StrongAuth, told WralTechWire: “The energy around the tech scene in Durham is vibrant, and we are looking forward to joining in and pushing it forward.”
