T-Venture reinvests in VeliQ

VeliQ, the Netherlands-based provider of a mobility platform as a service (mPaaS), which enables management of mobile devices within an organization from a central location, has closed a $9m series B round of financing led by Danish venture capital firm Northcap, with participation of existing investor T-Venture Holding, the corporate venturing investment subsidiary of Germany-based telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom, to follow up on its 2011 seed investment.

The investment will support the company’s international expansion and global sales efforts.  VeliQ sought new funding to accelerate the continued development of its products and partner ecosystem, including its worldwide collaboration with SAP.

Previously, VeliQ raised an undisclosed amount of investment in its series A round in August 2011.

Alex Bausch, founder and chief executive officer of VeliQ, said: “Our mission is to make the management of all mobile devices in an organization as simple and secure as possible.  Years of development have culminated in a complete mPaaS platform based on solidly proven technology.  We chose Northcap from a range of interested investors because of their long-term strategy and expertise in scaling growth companies internationally.”

Kim Wiencken, partner at Northcap, said: “When choosing a solution in the fast growing Mobile Device Management Market, buyers are looking for a market leader who can set direction for the space. VeliQ – with its solution and strong leadership – has already established themselves as a serious contender and we are confident they will become one of the leaders in the market.”
