Israel-based TaKaDu, a software provider that helps utilities cut down on water leakages, has raised $6m from a consortium including Switzerland-based industrial group ABB’s corporate venturing unit.
ABB Technology Ventures invested $3m with the remaining half coming from venture capital firms Emerald Technology Investors, which is understood to be raising a quasi-corporate venturing fund from Russia state-backed Rusnano, Gemini Israel Funds and Giza Venture Capital.
Its customers include customers including Thames Water in the UK, Sydney Water and Yarra Valley Water in Australia, Wiener Wasserwerke in Austria, Evides Waterbedrijf in the Netherlands, and Hagihon in Israel.
