Belgium-based food delivery startup Take Eat Easy closed a €6m ($6.4m) series A round on Monday featuring corporate-backed venture firm and incubator Rocket Internet.
The round also included the participation of VC firms DN Capital and Piton Capital. Take Eat Easy operates an online service that connects customers with restaurants through its network of local couriers, promising one-hour food delivery.
Launched in Brussels in 2013, the company launched its business in France in October 2014 and increased its partner restaurants from 30 to 150. The funding will be used to reinforce its presence in Brussels and Paris, and to expand its business to Germany, Spain and the UK.
