Talkdesk, a US-based customer engagement software provider backed by enterprise software producer Salesforce, is in the process of raising new funding at a valuation exceeding $10bn, The Information has reported.
The company intends to raise up to $210m in series D funding, according to securities filings obtained by The Information.
Founded in 2011, Talkdesk provides cloud-based customer service software which uses artificial intelligence to help businesses engage with customers more effectively.
The company was valued at over $3bn in its last round, a $143m series C round in July 2020 that increased its overall funding to $268m.
Franklin Templeton, Willoughby Capital, Skip Capital, Lead Edge Capital, Top Tier Capital Partners, Viking Global Investors and Threshold Ventures supplied Talkdesk’s series C funding.
Talkdesk’s valuation stood at $1bn as of a $100m series B round in 2018 led by Viking Global Investors that also featured DFJ. It came after Salesforce unit Salesforce Ventures led a $6m extension in 2015 that took its series A round, which included DFJ and Storm Ventures, to $21m.
