Target diclosed fourth Indian accelerator batch

US-based retailer Target has revealed the seven startups that make up the fourth batch of its India-based accelerator, Tech in Asia has reported.

Target launched the initiative in early 2014. The latest batch consists of startups focusing on wellness, internet of things (IoT) and retail technologies.

Two of the seven have not been disclosed as they are still operating in stealth mode but the other five include Preksh, a startup developing augmented reality technology for online retailers, and Lechal, the creator of smart shoe soles.

The other three are Uncanny Vision, which is developing software that can turn any device with a camera into a smart surveillance system; Lawbot, which has built a bot capable of scanning legal documents; and MintM, the developer of a platform that enables brands to display contextual advertising in public places.

Navneet Kapoor, president and managing director of Target India, said: “Our sustained effort to tap into India’s innovation potential has led to the success of our accelerator program.

“We are excited to have this latest batch focus on potentially game-changing technologies as well as areas of opportunities for Target like wellness and IoT.”
