TechSee unboxes $16m series B

TechSee, an Israel-based customer support technology developer, has completed a $16m series B round that included enterprise software provider Salesforce and business payment processor Comdata Group.

Venture capital firm Scale Venture Partners led the round, which included family office Planven Investments and equity crowdfunding platform OurCrowd, while Salesforce participated through its Salesforce Ventures unit.

Founded in 2015, TechSee has developed an augmented reality-based platform that adds a visual element to customer support, helping illustrate solutions for issues covering product unboxing, usage and guidance through a customer’s smartphone or tablet.

Eitan Cohen, TechSee’s co-founder and CEO, said: “While technology has become a commodity, customer service is still labour intensive and often involves friction-filled interactions. This results in high cost of service and barriers to customer adoption, negatively impacting enterprise profitability and scalability.

“TechSee helps companies overcome this challenge by deploying innovative autonomous visual applications that help them better connect with customers.”

Andy Vitus, a partner at Scale Venture Partners, has joined TechSee’s board of directors in conjunction with the firm’s investment. The series B funding will support product development, marketing and sales efforts in the US.

TechSee closed a $7.5m series A round in June 2017 that was led by Planven and backed by Innogy, a subsidiary of energy utility RWE, as well as Comdata and OurCrowd.
