US-based retail chain Target is set to launch a accelerator programme in partnership with startup accelerator Techstars that will fund developers of retail technology.
The accelerator will be based in Minneapolis and will launch in 2016. It will provide funding and mentorships to startups working on a range of retail technology, including supply chain technology, data analytics and new forms of integrating digital and in-store promotions.
Casey Carl, chief strategy and innovation officer for Target, said: “We know that technology will continue to revolutionise retail, and that Target’s future will be built on innovation.
“That is why we are so excited to partner with Techstars and invite the world’s most promising startups to work with Target right in our backyard.”
