US-based network infrastructure provider Tempered Networks has raised $15m in a series A round featuring IDG Ventures, a corporate venturing subsidiary of technology research and media company International Data Group.
The round, which was led by venture capital firm Ignition Partners, increased Tempered’s total equity funding to $22m, following a $2m seed round in November 2014 and a $5m bridge round in December 2014, both of which were funded by unnamed investors.
Tempered’s technology enables industrial sectors to secure their critical infrastructure against cybersecurity attacks. Its clients include companies in the manufacturing, oil and gas, and utilities industries.
The company will use the $15m to expand its sales and marketing efforts, grow its engineering team and widen its distribution channels.
