Test.AI gets $11m result in series A

Gradient Ventures, internet technology provider Google’s artificial intelligence-focused fund, has led an $11m series A round for Test.ai, the US-based developer of a testing system for app developers.

The round included venture capital firms E.ventures, Uncork Capital and Zetta Venture Partners, and took the company’s total funding to $18m, it said.

Founded in 2015, Test.ai has built an automated system for web and mobile apps that performs tests based on user scenarios to identify changes in different hypothetical versions of the program, meaning programmers do not need to write additional code to run tests.

Proceeds from the round will be used for product development and the expansion of Test.ai’s app testing campaign, as well as to increase the size of the company’s product engineering and machine learning teams.

SoftTech VC and Zetta Venture Partners co-led a $2.5m seed round for Test.ai in 2016, when it was still known as Appdiff, and its earlier investors also include Blue {Seed} Collective and Lodestar Ventures.
