The Business Growth Fund (BGF), the fund established by five of the UK’s largest banking groups to accelerate growth in the country through investment in small businesses, has hired two people.
Andy Gregory will be the fund’s regional director for the North of England and Northern Ireland. Gregory was formerly an investment partner at private equity firm Key Capital Partners.
Marion Bernard meanwhile has been appointed regional director for London and the South-East. Bernard was most recently chief executive of venture capital firm Northstar, and previously worked in banking and venture capital at banking group Barclays and private equity firm 3i in London.
Stephen Welton, chief executive of the BGF, said: "Andy and Marion have significant experience of creating, building and supporting small and medium sized businesses in key UK regions. Their combined contacts and relationships, established over many years in major cities like Manchester, Leeds, and Newcastle, will enable us to really accelerate our efforts in these important local economies. With their help we look forward to finding and funding fast growing companies and talented management teams who can become star businesses of tomorrow".
