US-based birth control delivery service The Pill Club has added $41.9m to a series B round featuring internet and technology group Alphabet that now stands at $92.9m, TechCrunch has reported.
Venture capital firm Base 10 led the extension, which included Alphabet subsidiary GV, private equity firm VMG Partners and VC firms iGlobe Partners, Acme Capital and Shasta Ventures as well as private investors Dara Khosrowshahi and George Ruan.
VMG Partners had led the $51m first tranche of the round in early 2019, investing with GV, Acme Capital, Shasta Ventures and Base 10 at a $250m valuation.
The Pill Club provides a subscription service which delivers prescription birth control pills and other forms of contraceptives to women. It accepts insurance coverage and recurring card payments, and the funding will support the lunch of new services for its members.
The company has raised approximately $109m to date, having collected $8.2m from 10 unnamed investors in 2018 according to a regulatory filing.
