TitletownTech, the corporate venturing fund co-founded by American football franchise Green Bay Packers and software provider Microsoft, has added more corporate limited partners to reach a $25m close.
The LPs are Wisconsin-based investors including industrial sheet manufacturer AmeriLux International, pulp and paper producer Green Bay Packaging, product development services firm Plexus, dairy producers Schreiber and Sartori, logistics firm Schneider and personal care product maker The Village Companies.
The corporates were joined by Baird, Cornerstone Foundation of Northeastern Wisconsin, Dickman Ventures, NEW Venture Foundry and Weyers Investments.
Microsoft and the Packers had each already committed $5m to the fund, which will invest in early and growth-stage businesses aligned with industries in the Northeastern part of the state of Wisconsin.
Brad Smith, Microsoft’s president, said: “The Fox River Valley is steeped in a history of innovation and entrepreneurialism, a spirit you see alive today at TitletownTech.
“This unique and exciting partnership is helping new and existing businesses accelerate a wave of Wisconsin-born innovation, providing a new model of economic development for other parts of the country.”
TitletownTech, situated in the Packers’ Titletown District development west of Lambeau Field, includes an innovation lab and a venture studio as well as the fund’s headquarters.
