TitletownTech’s Entrepreneur-In-Residence, a venture capital fund formed and backed by software provider Microsoft and American football franchise the Green Bay Packers, has secured more limited partners.
Jerry Jacobs, co-chief executive for hospitality and food services provider Delaware North, has committed an undisclosed amount to the vehicle, as has Jeff Wilpon, a partner at real estate advisory firm Sterling Project Development.
The fund, established as part of a $10m partnership formed by Green Bay Packers and Microsoft in 2017, is reportedly looking to raise approximately $25m according to Xconomy.
TitletownTech was created to identify, develop and fund startups, with a focus on sports, media and entertainment as well as digital health, agriculture, water and the environment, advanced manufacturing and supply chain technology.
In addition to investing in graduates of a new startup accelerator and innovation lab formed by Microsoft and the Packers through the partnership, the vehicle will also target existing tech startups from anywhere in the US.
