E-commerce platform Tokopedia has acquired Bridestory, an Indonesia-based online wedding services platform backed by conglomerate Lippo Group, for an undisclosed amount, KrAsia has reported.
Founded in 2014, Bridestory has developed a marketplace that helps couples organise their wedding ceremonies by connecting them with venues, organisers, caterers, entertainment providers and photographers, as well as vendors for bridal gowns and suits.
Tokopedia has also acquired the company’s parent-to-be services platform, Parentstory, as part of the deal.
Bridestory raised an undisclosed amount in a 2016 series A round featuring e-commerce holding company Rocket Internet and Lippo Digital Ventures, the corporate venturing subsidiary of conglomerate Lippo Group.
Skystar Capital, Sovereigns Capital, East Ventures and Fenox Venture Capital also contributed to the series A round, which came after the latter three had supplied an undisclosed amount of funding two years earlier.
