Google Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of internet company Google, has hired Laurence Toney as a partner on its investment team.
Toney began his new role earlier this month, leaving his previous role as partner of the Catalyst Fund at Comcast Ventures, which he joined in September 2014.
Before this, Toney was the chief executive of online education website LearnStreet and a general manager at game publisher Zynga.
Google Ventures has invested in more than 300 companies to date; notable firms include US-based disruptive taxi company Uber and home-automation company Nest.
