TradeIX, the UK-based operator of a blockchain-powered platform for trade financing, has received $16m in a series A round led by financial services firm ING’s strategic investment vehicle, ING Ventures.
Another bank, BNP Paribas, also participated in the round, as did IT equipment provider Tech Mahindra and Kistefos, the investment vehicle for entrepreneur Christen Sveaas.
TradeIX has created a software platform that applies blockchain technology to the financial trading and transfer process. It had not revealed any earlier funding.
Benoît Legrand, CEO of ING Ventures, said: “Extending our existing partnership into an investment helps to bring this solution to even more clients in the near future, empowering them to stay ahead in their business.”
