Germany-based pension platform Fairr.de has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from investors including Transamerica Ventures, the venture capital arm of life insurance and financial services firms Transamerica and Aegon.
VC Fonds Technologie Berlin, a fund managed by VC firm IBB Beteiligungsgesellschaft, also took part in the round, as did Tamaz Georgadze and Frank Freund, the co-founders of fixed deposit marketplace provider Saving Global, and unnamed angel investors.
Founded in 2013, Fairr runs an online platform that offers state-subsidised savings plans in partnership with financial services providers Sutor Bank and MyLife Lebensversicherung. It is a graduate of media group ProSiebenSat.1’s accelerator.
Ageon board member Marco Keim said: “Fairr.de is the only insurtech [company] focused on state-sponsored savings plans.
“The team has a deep product knowledge and understanding of the needs of German pension savers. Everything is in place at Fairr.de to develop high quality pension products for fair prices for consumers that will become the market standard.”
