Israel-based foreign currency exchange service TravelersBox has secured $10m in a series A round that included travellers shopping network Global Blue, according to DealStreetAsia.
Arbor Ventures led the round, which featured existing investors Pitango Venture Capital, IPE Ventures, Pereg Ventures and iAngels. Global Blue, Pitango Venture Capital and iAngels were also among the investors in a $4.5m round for TravelersBox in May 2015.
TravelersBox operates a collection of kiosks that travellers can use to exchange foreign currency for gift cards or charitable donations. It currently has 75 kiosks installed at airports in Israel, Canada, Turkey, the Philippines, Canada, Georgia and Italy.
The funding will support the opening of an Asia Pacific office that will help TravelersBox establish kiosks in Japan, India and Hong Kong as it seeks to add between 200 and 300 new machines by the end of 2016.
