Trinnovate Ventures, the corporate venturing unit of health insurance provider Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arizona, has revealed four investments made since its launch in 2015.
The four companies include Aco Partner, a joint venture between Trinnovate and healthcare company McKesson, which is offering a range of services around care management, population health technology and physician engagement. Aco aims to reduce costs while improving patient experience.
VisioGate is working on technology that enables early detection and prevention of lung cancer. The company’s first commercially available product, Luced, is a non-invasive test that can be used by physicians to detect the cancer.
MedMinder operates a pharmacy that dispenses medication to seniors, the chronically ill and people living with disabilities. It hopes to simplify management of, and improve adherence to therapies without the need for putting patients into long-term care.
Finally, Vision Care offers comprehensive eye services and products at a discount to help users maintain their vision even if they have no insurance.
Trinnovate is actively exploring additional opportunities in areas such as workers’ compensation, medically necessary cosmectics, vision, dental and specialty healthcare providers.
In addition to funding, the firm also provides access to business resources and strategic assets and helps with business development.
