UK-headquartered mobile game studio Tripledot Studios received $78m in series A funding from diversified conglomerate Access Industries, investment firm Eldridge and venture capital firm Lightspeed Venture Partners yesterday.
Tripledot develops mobile games and has built a portfolio of puzzle titles including Woodoku, Solitaire, WordHop and PuzzleTime.
The company said it reached a $100m revenue run-rate at the start of 2021 and has increased its active user base from 6 million to 11 million in the past six months. Investment firm Velo Partners led its $8m seed round in 2018.
Lior Shiff, chief executive of Tripledot, said: “This funding round is a major milestone for us. It is a privilege to partner with leading investors who share our long-term focus and vision to create a truly great business.
“We will continue building brilliant games ourselves and are excited to roll out the next generation of Tripledot titles later this year. At the same time, the funding round will allow us to accelerate our growth by acquiring studios that can benefit from our expertise.”
