China-based holiday rental room service Tujia.com secured $100m in series C funding, Technode reported yesterday, company chief executive Luo Jun’s microblog on Weibo.

The CEO did not reveal the investors in the latest round, but it raised $64m in series A and B rounds running up to February 2013 from backers including China-based travel agency Ctrip and US-based travel service Homeaway.

Other past investors include venture capital firms GGV Capital, Lightspeed Venture Partners, CDH Investments, Qiming Ventures and CBC Capital.

Founded in 2011, Tujia runs an online service enabling users to rent rooms out to holiday goers. It operates in 128 cities in China and a further 68 outside of the country.

News of the funding emerged the day after Xiaozhu, a competitor that operates closer to the budget end of the market, announced it had raised a $15m series B round.
