Andy Tupholme has joined UK-based investment firm Greencoat Capital as a partner and will be a senior member of the team overseeeing its $200m corporate-backed ESB Novusmodus fund.
Greencoat focuses in investments in the energy efficiency, resource efficiency and renewable energy sectors. Although much of Greencoat’s investments are in renewable energy projects, ESB Novusmodus, which is backed by Ireland-based utility ESB, concentrates on venture capital funding.
Before joining Greencoat Capital, Tupholme was a partner at Gresham Private Equity where he spent 12 years involved in growth capital and buyout deals.
On his appointment Tupholme said: “Over the few years since its inception Greencoat Capital has shown itself to be at the forefront of renewable energy investing. It has an exciting private equity portfolio, and a proven record of successful innovation and leadership. I look forward to working with this talented team in a challenging and fast-moving sector.”
