US-based on-demand ride provider Uber has launched an incubator for entrepreneurial and intrapreneurial projects developed by both in-house employees and outside participants.
The company will invest in selected business ideas through the six-month entrepreneur-in-residence scheme.
Participants in Uber Incubator will be able to access Uber’s ecosystem and utilise its platform and resources, and the company will potentially integrate new products and services with its overall offering.
Uber chief executive Dara Khosrowshahi said: “We are also actively engaging with early-stage startups that are taking smart risks and want to leverage the strengths of our platform to scale their businesses.
“We are hoping to find opportunities to grow new startups that can help improve our customer experience across mobility, logistics and more. If you would like to join us as we build new products, we have dozens of openings for tech and non-tech candidates.”
