Ubisoft Entrepreneurs Lab swings to Singapore

France-headquartered video game producer Ubisoft plans to launch the fourth edition of its Ubisoft Strategic Innovation Lab accelerator in Paris and has announced a new venture in Singapore.

Applicants may apply to the six-month scheme, which is located at Parisian incubator centre Station F, by June 30 this year. The fourth batch will pass through between September 2019 and March 2020, and Ubisoft will select from global developers of blockchain and extended entertainment services.

Participants will receive advice from Ubisoft professionals on areas including communications, finance, marketing and hard tech.

The company has also announced the formation of an offshoot called Ubisoft Entrepreneurs Lab which will be situated at Singapore-based innovation hub Pixel, which is run by the Singaporean government’s Infocommunications Media Development Authority (IMDA).

Howie Lau, chief industry development officer for IMDA, said: “This collaboration will enable participating startups in Singapore and the region to access IMDA Pixel’s facilities and local programs, as well as to access Ubisoft’s global resources and mentorship to develop innovative solutions for the entertainment sector.”
