Consumer goods supplier Unilever agreed on Monday to acquire UK-based Ren Skincare for an undisclosed amount.
Founded in 2000, Ren Skincare produces a range of skincare products including body washes, creams and oils, as well as haircare products, which are sold in shops and spas across more than 50 countries.
Post-acquisition, Ren will be overseen by Unilever’s corporate venturing unit, Unilever Ventures. The transaction is expected to close in May this year.
Olivier Garel, head of Unilever Ventures said: “Ren is at the crossroads of high-tech and ‘natural’, two key trends in premium skincare. We see considerable scope to extend Ren’s brand and channel footprint in existing and new markets.”
