UrgentRX secures $17.5m

US-based pharmaceutical manufacturer UrgentRX has raised $17.5m in a series C round from investors including talent agency William Morris Endeavor, according to Dow Jones.

The round also featured private investors including real estate investor Sam Zell and TPG Capital founder David Bonderman.

Founded in 2010, UrgentRX produces over-the-counter powdered pharmaceuticals that provide pain relief for everyday medical complaints. The new funds will be used to expand its sales and marketing initiatives.

UrgentRX raised $5.7m in series B funding in 2012 and 2013 from venture capital fund Jump Investors, Boulevard Capital Partners and some private investors. It has now recieved approximately $26.9m in funding since it was founded.
