VenueNext enters series B arena

VenueNext, a US-based software developer aimed at venue management, secured $15m in series B capital yesterday in a round led by investment fund Causeway Media Partners.

Founded in 2013, VenueNext operates a platform that lets venue owners access real-time data from individual systems such as ticketing and location services in a single interface in order to make more informed decisions.

The money will go towards an international expansion and will help VenueNext enter new verticals, including hospitality and healthcare.

In June 2015, VenueNext obtained $9m in series A funding from network technology provider Aruba Networks (since acquired by enterprise IT company Hewlett Packard Enterprise), live events promoter Live Nation Entertainment and Twitter Ventures, the investment subsidiary of social network Twitter.

The series A round also included Causeway Media Partners and undisclosed additional strategic investors.

Remaining investors include Aurum Partners, though it is not clear when the firm invested in VenueNext.
