Vera, a US-based developer of enterprise data management technology, has closed a $15m series C round that featured Capital One Growth Ventures, the strategic investment arm of financial services firm Capital One.
Venture capital firm Hasso Plattner Ventures led the round, which also featured Battery Ventures, Sutter Hill Ventures, Clear Venture Partners, Amplify Partners and Leslie Ventures. Christ Rust, general partner and co-founder of Clear Venture Partners, will join Vera’s board of directors.
Founded in 2014, Vera has developed data security technology that offers policy enforcement, encryption and strict access controls in order to enable employees to safely share files while ensuring regulatory compliance domestically and internationally.
Vera has now raised more than $50m in funding to date. Capital One Growth Venture provided the capital for the second close of its $21m series B round in May 2016, with the first tranche in February 2016 led by Sutter Hill with participation from Battery Ventures and Amplify Partners.
Battery had previously led the company’s $14m series A round in 2014 with contributions from Amplify and assorted angel investors.
