Veracode, the US-based developer of a cloud-based security platform backed by IT security firm Symantec, closed a $40m series F round on Thursday.
Wellington Management Company led the round, which Veracode said also featured existing investors.
The company has now raised more than $110m from investors also including digital entertainment technology company Rovi Corporation, In-Q-Tel, .406 Ventures, Atlas Venture, StarVest Partners, Cross Creek Advisors, Meritech Capital Partners and Polaris Partners, since it spun out of Symantec in 2005.
Veracode produces cloud-based security for web, mobile, legacy and third-party software. It grew an estimated 50% in size last year, partly due to securing several blue-chip enterprise accounts.
Ed Goldfinger, chief financial officer of Veracode, said: “We’re looking forward to continuing to execute against our aggressive growth ambitions while securing the critical application layer for major enterprises worldwide.”
