Terry Evans Jr (pictured) has been appointed principal at Verizon Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of telecommunications firm Verizon, according to a pop-up bulletin on the company’s website.
Evans Jr’s investment remit at Verizon includes commerce and advertising, connected devices and hardware, data and analytics, infrastructure and networking, and media and entertainment.
He comes on board after four years at diversified products manufacturer United Technologies as an M&A corporate development manager specialising in building automation systems and energy management software.
Prior to joining United Technologies, Evans Jr was a wealth management-focused business development manager at financial services firm PNC from 2011 until 2013 and at banking group HSBC from 2009 until 2011.
He earned his bachelor of science in finance and banking at Robert Morris University, later adding an MBA in business valuation and strategy from University of Pittsburgh and master of accounting degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
