CloudBees, the US-based provider of continuous delivery software for enterprises, raised $23.5m yesterday in a series D round backed by Verizon Ventures, the corporate venturing arm of telecommunications company Verizon Communications.
Venture capital firm Lightspeed Venture Partners led the round, with Matrix Partners and Blue Cloud Ventures also participating. All four previously invested in a $25.7m series C round in March 2014, and Cloudbees has raised a total of $49.2m to date.
CloudBees’ enterprise-focused platform enables developers to build, run and manage web applications.
The funding will be used to support the company’s development, professional services, and marketing and sales, and to introduce new products. It will also pursue strategic partnerships.
John Vrionis, general partner at Lightspeed Venture Partners, said: “The business is scaling quickly and we believe there is a massive opportunity to build a franchise company given all the momentum in continuous delivery.”
