Vestiaire changes into $36.8m series D

Vestiaire Collective, a France-based online reseller of luxury fashion items, secured €33m ($36.8m) in series D funding on Thursday from backers including magazine publisher Condé Nast.

The round was led by investment firm Eurazeo and also featured private equity firm IdInvest Partners and venture capital firms Balderton Capital and Ventech.

Founded in 2009, Vestiaire operates a curated marketplace through which users can sell their unwanted luxury fashion items to others on the platform. The company claims to list more than 400,000 items and cater to four million members.

Vestiaire has offices in France, the UK and Germany, and expanded into the US in November 2014. It will use the series D cash to grow its market share in its current geographies, and to launch in Italy and Scandinavia.

The company has raised $68.7m to date. Condé Nast led a $20m series C round in 2013 that also included IdInvest and existing backers Balderton and Ventech.
