Vetreska, a China-based pet product brand backed by technology and quantitative trading firm Susquehanna International Group (SIG), closed a $20m series B round led by private equity fund ClearVue Partners yesterday.
Founded in 2017, Vetreska provides pet lifestyle products such as toys, grooming cream and litter boxes. The company markets its offering as a premium brand and has designed it around a pop culture aesthetic with illustrations of items such as fruit, exotic plants and milk cartons.
The funding is expected to help Vetreska enhance its brand and support international expansion. It came in the wake of SIG corporate venturing vehicle SIG Asia leading a $6m series A-plus round for the company in late 2019.
The 2019 round followed a $2.9m series A led by IDG Capital and backed by Hejun Capital the year before. Vetreska’s backers include pharmaceutical and veterinary chemicals provider Rensin Chemicals according to Chinese deals database Qcc.com.
