Vida Health, a US-based online platform aimed at people suffering from chronic diseases, has raised $18m in a series B round that included technology company Nokia, VentureBeat wrote yesterday.
Nokia took part through its corporate venturing division Nokia Growth Partners. Canvas Ventures led the round, while Aspect Ventures also contributed.
Founded in 2014, Vida Health’s platform lets patients suffering from diabetes, depression, anxiety or high blood pressure connect to health coaches such as nurses, nutritionist or other medical support staff. The platform also integrates with a wide range of fitness trackers and apps to adjust recommendations.
In 2014, Aspect Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Signia Venture Partners, Valley Fund, Skip Battle and angel investors Jerry Yang, Maynard Webb and Kevin Scott provided $5m in series A funding.
Stephanie Tilenius, chief executive and co-founder of Vida Health, said: “Since launching two years ago, we have seen men and women use the Vida platform to dramatically improve their health and even reverse chronic conditions, like diabetes and hypertension.
“For many, it has transformed their lives. The potential to prevent, manage, and reverse chronic health conditions that affect half of all Americans, and reduce our nation’s healthcare burden, is huge.”
