Vidra resurfaces at TrialReach

Eze Vidra, formerly a general partner at corporate venturing unit Google Ventures’ European office, has been appointed chief innovation officer of clinical trials sourcing platform TrialReach, the Financial Times has reported.

Vidra was a co-founder of Google Ventures Europe, the London-based offshoot of the unit, which is now known as GV, in July 2014.

The European office was given $125m in capital but was absorbed back into GV at the end of 2015 after making relatively few investments. Vidra, who had originally joined Google in 2010 after a year at internet company AOL, left the company in December 2015.

TrialReach operates an online platform that connects patients with relevant clinical drug trials for their conditions. Although he has no direct experience in the medical sector, Vidra’s experience with Google and AOL, two businesses with large search engines, will likely be of relevance.
