US-based database provider Oracle has agreed to acquire Vitrue, a local cloud-based social marketing and engagement platform (pictured one of its logos), for $300m, according to news provider TechCrunch.
Vitrue had raised about $33m, including $17m in its series C round in February last year from a consortium including cable group Comcast’s corporate venturing unit.
Comcast Interactive had been joined by venture capital firms Scale Venture Partners, Advent Venture Partners, General Catalyst Partners and Dace Ventures.
Vitrue closed its $10m series B round in October 2007 from Dace, General Catalyst and media companies Comcast and Turner Broadcasting.
