Vietnam-based online gaming and messaging firm VNG, backed by internet company CyberAgent, has signed a preliminary agreement with US stock exchange Nasdaq, Reuters reported yesterday.
Nasdaq may assist VNG with preparations for the initial public offering. The agreement was inked during the visit of Vietnam’s prime minister, Nguyen Xuan Phuc, to the US.
Further details about the initial public offering have not been disclosed and VNG has not supplied any comments.
Established in 2004, VNG has developed various applications covering music streaming, messaging and games.
CyberAgent Ventures, the corporate venturing subsidiary of CyberAgent, committed an undisclosed sum in 2010. The investment provided CyberAgent with series C shares, according to deals database Crunchbase, though the claim could not be verified – while CyberAgent lists VNG as a portfolio company on its website, it does not offer details.
