Germany-based curated art marketplace Juniqe secured €14m ($15.9m) in series B funding on Wednesday from investors including Vorwerk Ventures, the corporate venturing subsidiary of direct selling company Vorwerk.
Venture capital fund Highland Europe led the round, which also featured High-Tech Gruenderfonds (HTGF) and Redalpine Venture Partners. Vorwerk Ventures, Redalpine, HTGF, and photographic and printing service CEWE supplied $5.6m in series A funding for Juniqe in June 2015.
Founded in 2014, Juniqe operates an e-commerce platform supplying affordable curated wall art, fashion, home and living products to customers in 13 European countries. The funding will go to further expansion in Europe as well as investment in technology.
Lea Lange, co-founder and managing director of Juniqe, said: “We believe there is extraordinary potential for growth in the European market, as illustrated by our experience in France.
“It was only last autumn that we launched in France, on juniqe.fr, and not even a year later, we are generating over 15% of our revenue from the French market.”
