Voyager flies into $100m

Voyager Labs, an Israel-based artificial intelligence software provider, has raised $100m from a consortium including New York-listed database system Oracle.

Formerly known as Voyager Analytics, Voyager Labs emerged from stealth having been founded in 2012 and the $100m is the aggregate for the amount it has raised over three rounds since then.

Oracle invested through its Ireland-incorporated Ocapac subsidiary and was joined by Hong Kong tycoon Li Ka-shing’s Horizons Ventures andhttp://www.globalcorporateventuring.com/admin/articles/index.php?action=edit&id=15763 angel investors Sir Ronald Cohen, founder of Apax Partners and chairman of The Portland Trust and Bridges Ventures, and Lloyd Dorfman, founder of UK-based foreign exchange company Travelex Group.

Avi Korenblum, Voyager Labs founder and CEO who had previously spent 20 years in the Israeli intelligence community, said: “Despite the elusive nature and overwhelming proliferation of unstructured data, we can extract precise, meaningful insights from this data to benefit our customers.”

The late Meir Dagan, a former Israel Defense Force Major General and director of the Mossad Israeli intelligence and special operations agency, served as Voyager Labs’ director and consultant from 2012 until his passing in March 2016, according to the UK’s Companies House registry.
