Vynca sinks series B funding

US-based healthcare-planning software provider Vynca has secured $10.3m in a series B round featuring investment representatives of home care and nursing organisation Spectrum Health and senior care provider Link-age.

Spectrum Health Ventures and Ziegler LinkAge Longevity Fund, which was formed by Link-age and investment bank Ziegler, were joined in the round by First Trust Capital Partners, OCA Ventures, Generator Ventures and undisclosed strategic individual investors.

Vynca provides software that integrates with healthcare organisations’ electronic health records to tailor and personalise care plans for each patient. The cash will support product development and expansion into new markets.

The company has not disclosed details of any previous funding rounds, though it raised $4.9m in 2015 according to a securities filing. It identified Generator Ventures and the Ziegler LinkAge Longevity Fund as existing investors in the series B round.

Rachel Kern, private equity associate at First Trust Capital Partners, will join the company’s board of directors in conjunction with the round. Scott Lancaster, clinical director and general partner at Spectrum Health Ventures, is taking a board observer position.
