Wayra UnLtd, a London-based startup accelerator which is dedicated to supporting digital social ventures, and which is jointly funded by Spain-based telecommunications company Telefónica and the UK Government’s Social Incubator Fund, has selected ten entrants to join the inaugural programme in September.
Each startup will receive on average £40,000 seed funding. The mentoring programme will be run in its own space located below Telefónica’s existing Wayra Academy in London.
The 10 Wayra UnLtd entrants are: Discoverables, for improving young people’s soft skills; DNAdigest, for sharing genomics research; Karisma Kidz, for improving children’s emotional intelligence; Know Maths, for provision of one-to-one learning; Lingoing, for sourcing language professionals; MySupportAssistant, for sourcing care and support services; Provenance, an-commerce site for young people; Skin Analytics, for healthcare via smartphones; StudentFunder, for investing in students; and The DoNation, a tool for social action.
