Online healthcare service provider We Doctor Group has invested in a RMB210m ($31.7m) series A round for China-based hardware and software developer Halove Technology alongside undisclosed others, Marbridge Consulting has reported.
Founded in 2015, Halove develops smartphones and wearable devices targeted at elderly customers. The company’s flagship smartphone product comes with a companion app that directly connects elderly parents with family members.
The handset includes voice control and is compatible with wearable technology that can monitor sleep conditions and physical health. It also has an SOS button that calls emergency services, and connects to a Halove-run online platform that offers phone consultations with doctors.
Details of Halove’s previous investors were not disclosed but founder Shao Chenxi told China Daily in December 2016 the company had raised more than $15m in angel funding.
