US-based big data analytics platform WebAction raised a $20m series B round yesterday led by Intel Capital, the corporate venturing unit of semiconductor technology company Intel.
Summit Partners, Panorama Point Partners, Frank Caufield and Regis McKenna and one unnamed strategic investor also participated in the round.
Founded in 2012, WebAction’s big data analytics platform, named Striim, offers fraud risk monitoring, real-time management of customer experiences, and business intelligence.
The capital will go towards increasing sales efforts and expanding market share. As part of the deal, Igor Taber, investment director for big data and analytics at Intel Capital, will join WebAction’s board of directors.
Summit Partners previously led an $11m series A round in 2013. Frank Caufield and Regis McKenna also backed that round.
