China-based marketing services provider Weimob has raised RMB500m ($79m) in a series C round led by aviation conglomerate HNA, China Money Network reported today.
Founded in 2013, Weimob helps businesses establish e-commerce offerings on social network WeChat, offering development, operation, training and promotional services. The company claims to have more than a million clients across a range of sectors such as tourism and healthcare.
In April 2015, packaged food manufacturer Jinzi Ham led a $24.2m series B round for Weimob, investing $20.3m. Private equity firm Meridian Capital China and an unnamed private investor also participated in that round.
Meridian previously provided RMB30m in series A funding for Weimob in July 2014. Weimob reportedly also closed an undisclosed angel round in 2013.
