Wendell Brooks, Intel’s president of mergers and acquisitions, is now set to take over running Intel Capital, the largest venture capital group globally with more than $11.5bn invested in its history.
Brooks will be jointly running Intel Capital alongside Arvind Sodhani, until the latter steps down in January.
Before joining Intel last year as president of mergers and acquisitions, Brooks spent 23 years as an investment banker, most recently at Allen & Co, and before that at Citigroup.
Half the time of Brook’s investment banking career was spent in Europe. He set up Allen & Co’s London office in 2008, having previously headed Citigroup’s European telecom, media and technology group.
Brooks has a degree in industrial and operations engineering and is a master in business administration from the University of Chicago.
